If the person with strong myopia makes glasses ...
・ The edge of the lens becomes thick.
・ It becomes heavy.
・ The face line looks dented
・ Eyes look small.
There are many people who have troubles such as.
Here are some tips for choosing eyeglasses for people with high myopia who can solve such problems as much as possible.
Find the best eyeglass frame and lens
1. Choose one with a small lens width
Align your eyes with the center of the lens and choose a spectacle frame with a small lens width.
For myopia glasses, the lens becomes thicker as the distance from the focal point (center of the lens) to the edges on both the nose and ear sides increases.
The following effects can be obtained by selecting a size with a small lens width.

Effect: 1
Conspicuous dents on the contour when viewed from the front
If the lens width is large, the dents on the contour of the face will be more noticeable. (See the figure on the right)
It's a good idea to choose a spectacle frame with as small a lens width as possible.

Effect: 2
The thickness of the lens can be reduced
The lens that corrects myopia becomes thicker from the optical center (where the lens has the strongest power) to the edge. (See the figure on the right)
By choosing a frame with a small lens width, the part that uses the lens is reduced and the thickness of the lens can be reduced.

* The disadvantage is that the frames that can be selected are limited.
At our shop, we offer eyeglass frames with various lens widths.
2. Be careful of the distance between your eyes and the lens
For myopia glasses, the farther the eye and the lens are, the smaller the eye looks, so it is necessary to keep the distance between the eye and the lens as close as possible while maintaining an appropriate distance.
Therefore, it is advisable to choose a frame with an adjustable metal arm for the nose pad.

3. Choose a double-sided aspherical lens
The double-sided aspherical design corrects aberrations on both sides of the lens, resulting in a sharper peripheral field of view compared to conventional spherical designs and outer aspherical surfaces.
In addition, it is a recommended lens for people with strong myopia because the dents in the contour peculiar to myopia also make the connection natural.

At our shop, our staff with specialized knowledge will carefully counsel each customer and propose the most suitable lens.
